History

Brunninkhuis Chip Ontwerp” was founded in 1988 on New Years Day by Gerard Brunninkhuis, who started operation in an old farmer shed in Hezingen close to the German border. ELMOS AG was launching customer focusing on IC design services for automotive applications and maintained the lead customer position for many years. Philips Test and Measurement was one of the first customers during the early days.

After being located in Weerselo the team was extended in 1998 with the Philips/Fluke Test and Measurement ASIC design team. In parallel Philips Semiconductor became one of the largest customers for more than 10 years.

Harry Diepenmaat became the owner of Bruco IC in 2002. Bruco IC acquired in 2003 the Ericsson Bluetooth team located in Emmen and a year later in 2004 the Agere Systems WLAN team was acquired. In 2004 offices moved to Borne, current headquarters.

In the year 2008, Dizain-Sync, an independent consultancy organisation in electronic design & development, focusing on PLM, EDA, Design and Training services, was brought into the company to increase the portfolio of services for our customers.

In 2009 Bruco Components started operation, to coordinate the supply chain activities around the delivery of ICs.
